Electronic payment of customs duties and taxes now possible in all major Cameroonian cities

(Business in Cameroon) – The Managing Director of the Customs administration (DGD), Fongod Edwin Nuvaga, announced that it is now possible to pay customs duties and taxes online outside of Douala. Particularly in the towns of Yaoundé, Tiko, Kribi, Limbe, Bamenda, Mamfe, Ambam, Ebolowa, Kye-Ossi, etc.

Based on the explanations of the DGD, the process involves the inspector who validates the customs declaration and communicates to the economic operator the clearance number. With this reference and their taxpayer number, the user goes to one of bank branches connected to the electronic platform “e-Guce” for the payment, depending on his choice (cash, bank transfer, electronic transfer, etc.). The bank employee validates the payment on the platform to proceed with the automatic issuance of the receipt on the customs system, and pays in the monies collected. The Customs tax collector in charge of the area issues the receipt after verifying the effective payment on “e-Guce”.

Fongod Edwin Nuvaga seized the opportunity to announce that the integration of other towns in the country is being done gradually, economic operators are invited to regularly get in touch with their banks to get the list of branches effectively connected to the platform to carry out this type of operation.
