The economy of the Republic of Chad is based on agriculture, livestock and oil. The latter is transported to the port of Kribi (Cameroon) via the Doba-Kribi pipeline (Chad-Cameroon pipeline).

Business law in Chad is based on the Uniform Acts of the Organization for the Harmonization in Africa of Business Law (OHADA), of which the country is a member.
